ABSTRACT
The foundry in Kishinev, owned by industrialist S. Serbov, active at the turn of the 19-20th centuries, is of great interest in what concerns the study of the items of artistic ironwork in Bessarabia; among the most well-known we can list the staircase found in the Museum of the City of Kishinev (the former Water Tower, fitted with a fire tower). Most of these items were made at S. Setbov’s foundry, using models that were widely used in the historical city centers of the cities of Kishinev and Odessa. The number of items could be higher, but we strove to showcase only the most representative ones for the city of Kishinev, items that were unfoundedly overlooked by the researchers in the fields of history and visual arts.
