Abstract
The European political scene was influenced in the last two centuries by several ideas that reached almost the entire continent and Giuseppe Mazzini was one of the modern personalities whose activity had an impact in European society, some key concepts of the Italian being for some time found in the domestic politics of modern Romania. The research aims to point out the directions that made Mazzini a star among fellow Europeans with similar political activity, as reflected in modern historiography. As we will discover, even if some main Romanian political figures have been among Mazzini’s collaborators, the Romanian historiography was not concerned too much with Mazzini’s figure, the only historian really involved in uncovering the Italian’s influence among Romanians being Ștefan Delureanu.
