Abstract
This article illustrates the last few years of King Ferdinand’s life, as tossed as his entire reign. Although he used to suffer from ill health from the time of World War I, the King tried to be a factor of stability on the Romanian political stage, but he was constantly put to shade by the Liberal leader, Ion I. C. Brătianu. Additionally, the issue of Prince Carol’s abdication also aroused. The sole consolation at the end of his reign was his reconciliation with the Catholic Church, transposed in the Vatican Concordat.
