Abstract
The article deals with the issue of seats distribution at the main cemeteries in Iaşi, Chişinău and Bucharest. According to the 1810 correspondence of senator V. Krasno-Milaşevicias regarding the issue of placing cemeteries outside the habitation area, four places for setting cemeteries were assigned in Bucharest, while in Iasi four cemeteries were created outside the living space. After 1812, Gavriil Bănulescu- Bodoni had discussions with cadastral engineer and city architect Mihail Ozmidov on the issue of placing cemeteries in Chisinau, known today as the Central Cemetery.
The examination of the funerary complexes is linked directly to the analysis of the documents concerning the establishment of cemeteries outside the city and further raising churches in the cemetery zone.
