ABSTRACT
Following its union with Neamț Monastery, fulfilled by Paisie Velicicovschi, in 1779 Secu Monastery fell under the patronage of the latter, loosing its own legal personality. Thus, through the document entitled The Establishment of Neamț and Secu Monasteries, conceived by Paisie and then recreated in 1839 and 1843, the abbot of Secu Monastery was subordinated to Neamț Monastery’s abbot in every regard. As proof, in this regard, there are two accounting balances from 1845-1846 and 1849-1850, given by the abbot of Secu Monastery to that of Neamț Monastery. These two documents are important as they contain several data regarding eating habits, the restoration after the fire of 1844 and other economic aspects.
