ABSTRACT
In traditional folk culture, customs form an important section, as they condition the human life, work, relationships with other people. Mythological characters often populated such customs. In Saxon folklore, some customs have been preserved to present times, by large deployments combining ancient rites with spectacular events. These are celebration folk songs, dance, poetry. Unlike summer holidays, when there take place mainly agricultural practices, autumn is dedicated to the celebration of the divinity that helped obtaining the harvest. By such recognition, it is hoped to relent the divinity for the following year. Autumn feasts are many comparative to the summer. Now the time is slower, and the agricultural works are finished. The most important autumn fest are: The harvest day, Game of the king, Saint Martin, Saint Ecatherina. On this occasion, peasants of Transylvania meet to revive tradition and life becomes colorful again.
