Abstract
The present paper is dedicated to the celebration of 80 years since the first year of publication of the Folklore Annual Archive that is the first Romanian scientific journal dedicated exclusively to folklore research. Starting from classical sources (64 articles grouped into 7 volumes), but also from some unusual ones (such as the letters that Ion Muşlea – the editor of the Annual – has changed with his collaborators), we analyzed the institutional and editorial context of the journal, its profile, as well as the impact it had on the Romanian Folkloristic movement in the 4th and 5th decades of the twentieth century.
