Anuarul Muzeului Etnografic al Moldovei – XV / 2015

Abstract

The second part of the study begins with a monographic presentation of an ancient ritual named defamatory cortege. The custom presented by Cantemir is followed throughout several nations of the world, starting with the early Antiquity and ending with times very close to the present day. Following a thorough analysis, the author concludes that the practice has a Euroasian origin. Afterwards, he investigates nuptial and funeral practices performed by Turks and Tartars, the Islamic mythology and aspects of the Turkish folklore. The last part of the study is dedicated to several military and monachal institutions specific to Turks, while the end represents an outline of the Circassian ethnography.
