Abstract
The present paper describes the solar motif encountered in the decoration of the objects used in the traditional villages of the ethnographic areas in Northern Transylvania. Following a brief presentation of the history of the ornament and its ancient roots, the author deciphers the wooden objects on which solar motifs are present, techniques of making these ornaments and the cause that made the author opt for the decorative motif.
