Abstract
Professor Petru Caraman’s study is a thorough critical analysis on few mysterious expressions (Hoja, Lero, Dolerije, Lerijane) found in the writings of some 17th-18th century Dalmatian authors (Dominko Zlatarić, Divo Gundulić and Junije Palmotić) on whom controversial points of view had been expressed by Croatian researchers. The historical and ethnographic documents invoked by the Romanian specialist come to confirm the hypothesis of Milovan Gavazzi, who ascribed these terms to Romanian influences. Unfortunately, this study remained unfinished.
