Abstract
This paper reflects the evolution of the first public museum of the Republic of Moldova. Basing their study on archive materials, publications and activity reports, the authors present the stages of the museum’s development, the directions and results of its research activity, providing an overview of the gradual transformation of the institution into a scientific research establishment.
