Abstract

ANTHROPOMORPHIC REPRESENTATIONS ON THE CERAMICWARE OF CUCUTENI-CETATUIA

Starting from three anthropomorphic representations on the ceramicware discovered in the settlement of Cucuteni – Cetăţuia, the present study proposes to tale over a subject for the first time introduced in the Romanian historiography by Ioan Andrieşescu, in 1929.

Taking into account the phase of knowledge in the field and the development of investigation methods, the topic of Paleolithic survivals in the Neolithic environment throughout the Carpathian-Dniestrean space in the context of European prehistory can nowadays receive the answers searched for, the research being necessary also from the perspective of the connecting role of this geographic area, linking the Balkan and Danube zone to the north and east-European one.
